‘Grito de Cien Calaveras', the debut album of San Antonio-based black metal entity Yolquetza finds itself taking a unique place in the modern array of extreme musick tinctures through it's unabashed reverence of Mexican and indigenous folklore as well as traditional rhythmic stylings. Passages of thrashing tempos, bleak sorrowscapes, and mystic timbres create a tragic aura that takes the listener into a journey of trimuphant anguish only made palpable by the bookend segueys of cumbia that seem to hauntingly weave in and out.

Grito de Cien Calaveras’, el álbum debut de la banda de black metal Yolquetza, con sede en San Antonio, se encuentra ocupando un lugar único en la gama moderna de matices de música extrema a través de su descarada reverencia por el folclore mexicano e indígena, así como por los estilos rítmicos tradicionales. Pasajes de ritmos palpitantes, paisajes desolados y timbres místicos crean un aura trágica que lleva al oyente a un viaje de angustia triunfante que solo se hace palpable por las secuencias de cumbia que parecen entrelazarse de manera inquietante.
